My journey began with numerous positions in the tourism and hospitality industry: from property management to culinary arts, leading me to a shared purpose of providing memorable guest experiences at the highest level. I learned the art of managing different people and personalities, working in a fast pace tailored for operations and personal service.
Carrying the responsibilities of a Backpackers Hostel very well, each day being managed smoothly while keeping guests satisfied and operating in developmental environment capturing community. I was in charge of managing reservations, lining up housekeepers and planning events. I loved thriving on this dynamic: welcoming diverse travellers, listening to their stories and making them feel at home.
This is where my journey in the kitchen started as a head chef back at La Voglia, Old Manali. This allowed me to explore a world of flavours and cooking techniques when it comes to making authentic home-style Indian food. I even worked with celebrity chef Harpal Singh Sokhi on a TV show which meant working in professional kitchen environments and learning from one of the best chefs.
Experiences like this have fueled my desire to further my career within the hospitality and tourism world. Tourism and hospitality management fascinates me; therefore I am very enthusiastic about studying for a tourism/hospitality degree so I can fully understand the dynamics of this industry, acquire specialised knowledge related to it as well as enhance my strategic leadership skill sets. Specifically, I am focusing on learning about sustainable tourism options and the new hospitality concepts being used to increase guest satisfaction.
