After my BSc. degree and the one year mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2015, I couldn\\\'t pursue any career due to my father\\\'s ,\'s ill-health. I stayed home and cared for my father for two years. Caring for my father developed my passion for care.
In 2017, I got a job with a beauty and wellness company and was trained as a Beauty Advisor. I worked as a Beauty Advisor/Senior Beauty Advisor from 2017 through 2023. Working in these roles developed my communication skills, client service skills, and effective working relationship.
Due to my passion for care and my desire to contribute to the well-being and quality of life of individuals in need of care, I decided to have a career change. I registered for Healthcare Assistant training, and the training provided me with the most useful information and understanding of responsibilities of being a Healthcare Assistant. After the training, I was posted to a Care Home for my internship.
During my internship I was highly dedicated towards my responsibilities as a Caregiver. I supported elderly with dementia, and was always on time and prepared for work with a positive attitude. Currently, I work as a Caregiver.
I always put the people I care for in my shoes and this gives me the ability to care for them with lots of respect, compassion, patience, and humility. I care for them as I would care for my own mother and father. I make sure I render person centred care to residents/clients.
I am flexible to work shifts, day and night shifts, during weekdays, weekends, and public holidays. I am a good team player and I pride myself in working well as a team member. I listen attentively and communicate effectively with my team members. I bring in my empathetic and caring skills with effective communication and good listening skills to my job.
