Salary and Benefits

Below is a typical example of the basic salary and benefits package for this position:

  • A$53,900 per annum
  • Tool allowance per year (approx. A$600)
  • Pension plan of around A$5,000 per year
  • 4 weeks annual leave
  • 10 days sick leave
  • 9-10 days for public holiday
  • Overtime for work and outside hours

For exceptional candidate’s salaries can be adjusted accordingly

 

Role and Responsibilities

As a Mechanic, you will be carrying out multiple duties including:

  • Customer car servicing
  • Quoting for work to be carried out (maintenance and repair)
  • Fault diagnostics
  • Advise customers on additional services provided by the company
  • Create and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others

 

Candidate Requirements

The ideal Mechanic will have the following:

  • Motor Mechanic Trade Certification (or equivalent)
  • Valid driving license
  • Experience in service, maintenance, repair and diagnostics
  • Good eye for attention to detail
  • Strong in both verbal and written communication
  • Can work individually but also as a valuable team member

 

Depending on current location and Nationality several documents will be needed for Visa and Skills Assessments

Some of the evidence that will be required to support any visa application will include, but not limited to:

  • A copy of relevant qualification certificates (professional and educational)
  • A copy of any required registration/licensing
  • The curriculum vitae or resumé (including all employment history: the last 5 years is particularly critical)
  • Previous employment references (including evidence that candidates have two years’ work experience in the nominated occupation or a related field)

The other key criteria is passing a comprehensive medical,  providing a police check of all countries in which the candidate has worked and evidence of English language skills:

  • Where a candidate did not complete high school in English, the candidate will be required to provide evidence of English language skills (ie IELTS test at least 5); holders of Canadian, Irish, NZ, UK or US passports are exempted
  • If the candidate is exempted from providing evidence of English language skills, it is essential that they have good conversational English skills
