Core Objectives

Working as part of a team, this is an integral role to assist in the exploration, development, production and preparation of agreed designated mining project/site

 

The role includes general support duties including assisting with site preparation, assisting in operation of tools and equipment, undertaking testing, gathering information and samples, assisting in surveying and drafting and planning solutions at designated projects/sites, performing the allocated tasks to meet applicable safety standards, targets, criteria and deadlines and to maximise productivity and profitability.

 

 

Main Tasks/Duties and Responsibilities  

 

 

Day to day responsibilities at agreed locations

– monitoring and testing, including feasibility

using instruments and equipment, take samples and readings as required

– conducting  surveys at specified locations

– calculations

– drafting maps, drawings, designs and databases

– feasibility assessments, taking into account specified criteria

– assist with project proposals, design layout and pick-up of drill/blast and digging areas

– generally assist other team members as and when required

– ensure that the highest level of quality is consistently maintained

– help to minimise downtime and wastage

– complete all safety requirements, including for applicable equipment and machinery

– assist with specified projects to ensure smooth operations

– assist with ensuring that tasks adhere to all aspects of safety issues, including equipment

– assist with improving working operations and safety

– assist with the assessment and allocation of required supplies

– assist with relevant costing/supply/budgetary reviews

– effectively liaise and communicate and maintain a good relationship with team members,  contractor/suppliers and other stakeholders as required

– subject to applicable criteria, general support of all project team members to ensure targets are met

– maintain accurate data/records/documentation

– carry out designated projects in accordance with contract requirements

– carry out projects within specified time limits

– ensure compliance with health and safety and all related legal/statutory regulations, policies and procedures, codes,  professional duties, responsibilities and obligations and insert as applicable

– immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the team or the organisation to Line Manager

– responsibly use resources and control expenses to meet budgetary controls

– adhere to all organisation policies and procedures

set an example for team members of commitment, technical activities, work ethics and habits and personal character

 

From time to time you may be expected to be part of special projects as are reasonably required of your job role.

You are responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all targets as agreed with your Line Manager. You must contribute towards the smooth running of the organisation generally.

Hours

Your usual hours will be from 8am to 4pm. However you will be expected to work as and when  necessary to meet the needs of the team and your targets.

OR

In view of  the nature of the job you may be required to perform shift work (such as 12 Hour shifts including days, nights and weekends on a rota basis) and you will be expected to work as and when necessary to meet the needs of the team and your targets.

Insert following if applicable Your job will involve travel to sites within the agreed area. The agreed area is insert e.g. 20 mile radius, county etc

The role is part of the whole organisation team and as such requires you to perform such reasonable tasks that are required, as and when necessary, to maintain, promote, develop and expand the business of our organisation and its interests generally.

Equipment

You are responsible for the equipment provided to you for use in your job role. This means you should carry out checks and cleaning as required.

You must also ensure that equipment is used in accordance with training provided, all of the organisation’s policies and procedures and the law and using, where applicable, any safety equipment or Personal Protective Equipment provided. You are responsible for ensuring that the equipment you use is maintained and can be used/operated at all times.

 

Essential Abilities/ Competencies of this job role

You need

– proven skills in using insert as applicable

– aptitude for working on mining projects and associated relationship management

– proven ability to work as a member of a team

– demonstrable deadline/time management and task management skills

– high degree of integrity and honesty in all dealings

– excellent analytical, interpersonal, organisational and communication skills

– ability to work under pressure

– full driving licence

You may be expected to work in accordance with the organisation’s overtime policies

The nature of your role will require you to travel within the area that your team covers. However, from time to time you may be expected to travel outside that area as the job role requires.

 

Salary/wages level

C – 20,000 or insert £ per hour
