Skills Provision is searching for a Portfolio Manager for an investment management firm in the United States.

The employing company provides comprehensive financial planning services to its clients, including but not limited to pre-and post-retirement planning, inter-generational wealth planning, concentrated stock and stock options exercise analysis, income tax planning, and insurance needs analysis.

The Role

The Portfolio Manager will be expected to hit the ground running. From day one, the Portfolio Manager will have significant client relationship responsibilities with the goal of becoming the primary firm contact for nominated clients. This person must be able to oversee the implementation and maintenance of balanced, multiple asset class portfolios across diverse accounts in a tailored and tax-sensitive manner. In addition, must also be familiar with financial planning concepts. The ability to manage diligently a high number of client relationships and earn very high levels of client satisfaction is essential, as is the ability to provide investment and financial planning counsel.

Professional and Personal Characteristics

An experienced, self-sufficient investment professional with the highest integrity and the ability to command the respect of sophisticated and demanding clients. The appropriate candidate is a mature and confident self-starter, able to assume broad authority, take action and communicate clearly and concisely (orally and in writing) on a host of investment management and financial planning matters.

Preferred but not required are the ability to create new client and new business opportunities, and the ability to contribute to and enhance the investment process and methodology. The appropriate candidate may have opportunity to leverage such talents in this position in future. Initially, these skill sets will be less important than the ability and desire to satisfy an already growing client base through consistently outstanding service, sensitivity and the disciplined application of the investment and planning approach.
