Skills Provision is searching for a Head of Risk Management for a company in Madrid, Spain.

The employing company is a leading player in Spain’s financial sector. They are a modern-day firm that focus heavily on the well-being of their workforce.

Salary and Benefits

The Role

• Recommend risk management strategies to senior management.
• Advise management on the establishment of a comprehensive framework for identification, monitoring and measurement of market, operational and credit risk.
• Identify the various risk arising out of the company’s operations.
• Develop tools for or evaluate risk.
• Suggest various strategies to the senior management to avoid mitigate or transfer the potential risk.
• Work with senior management on the implantation of controls and compliance activities across the company, arranging peer review, participating in audit preparation as necessary.
• Establish procedures for controlling & monitoring various risks prevalent by establishing limits and conducting audits or review as necessary.
• Ensures adequate system and procedures are for compliance.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration.
• 15 years’ experience of working preferably in investment / financial institution.
• Minimum 3 years at the managerial level.
• Minimum 2 years in Spanish market.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Ability to deliver on commitments within tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to deal confidently at senior management level.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
• Knowledge about the local and international stock market Risk Management functions.
• Knowledge of wide range of controls and compliance activities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
