Food Microbiology Support Technician needed in the UK

We are currently recruiting for a Food Microbiology Support Technician to work in a leading Food Testing Laboratory in the United Kingdom. The ideal candidate will be a graduate within Microbiology, with desire to work with Food Microbiology environment.

Salary

• £29,500 p/a

The Role

• Aseptic Preparation of samples for Microbiological analysis
• Initial dilution of samples
• Pipetting of diluted samples
• Entering sample information into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
• Preparation and sterilization of sampling and other associated equipment
• Preparation of media as required
• Carry out Aw and pH measurement of samples as required
• Packing and dispatch of test kits
• Assistance in plate drying activities as required
• General laboratory housekeeping
• Daily equipment checks and calibrations

• Skilled in Numeracy and Literacy
• Eye for detail
• Good Team Worker
• Flexibility of Work Hours
• Hard working Conscientious and adaptable
• Should be able to work in a logical manner and be able to work well under pressure
• Assist with maintaining quality standards
