The Role

  • Develop and maintain relationships with intermediaries (deal sources) in the firm’s database.
  • Maintain and build upon the firm’s existing contact database.
  • Build and maintain an on-going database of transactions reviewed.
  • Periodically represent the firm at German and European conferences at which networking opportunities exist to both develop deal flow and maintain the firm’s profile in the industry.
  • Direct the firm’s deployment and/or development of marketing materials. Also take responsibility for any website additions and/or improvements.
  • Lead initial review of deals presented to the firm. Analysis will likely include review of high level, usually disguised, deal information and deciding on whether a more extensive review of the opportunity is warranted. On deals for which more information is pursued, analysis also likely to include first review of this information and generation of a list of key investment considerations for review by the firm’s principals.
  • Use and consider enhancement to the company’s acquisition spreadsheet model for deals that the firm chooses to pursue with an offer or expression of interest.



The candidate must be personable with excellent verbal communication skills and excel at developing relationships with a broad cross-section of people. Significant phone work will be required, and a candidate will benefit from having a demonstrated track record of generating leads through networking. The candidate must also be adept at financial and business analysis in order to meaningfully evaluate investment opportunities.

  • Several years of business experience in a relevant field. Analyst experience in investment banking or consulting would be helpful but is not required.
  • Professional services-oriented client business development / marketing experience helpful but not required.
  • Previous experience in generating business leads through telephone marketing efforts.
  • Significant analytical skills, including competence with spreadsheets and financial analysis.
  • Solid conceptual understanding of financial accounting principles and income, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (German & English).
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Business degree or MBA preferred.
