Am a fiber optic technician with Qua-v-tel limited.we are doing outside plant maintenance.we assist Telecommunication companies i.e Safari-com ,Air-tel,Liquid Intelligent technologies and in restoring the services back in case of any failures within the service level agreement.we also do regular patrols along the routes to prevent failures from happening hence preventing of minimizing on faults along the routes.
1.Splicing Technician.
* Preparation and splicing of fiber optic cables both on closures(dome ,conning),optical distribution frame,FAT.
2.Electrical Technician.
*Installation of switches and routers on base station.
*Trouble shoot and repair of fault equipment.
*Maintenance of electrical equipment.
1.April 2018 to date; Working at Quava-tel limited as fiber optic field technician
*Installing and terminating fiber optic cables.
*Splicing fiber optic cables at various fiber distribution hubs and fault points.
*Troubleshooting,testing fiber links using OTDR,power meter,light source and FID.
*Doing preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance.
*Providing timely updates on fiber faults to network operation center personnel.
*Documentation and compiling of reports on work done.
2.October 2016 to March 2018:Sound Fusion limited,where i was head technician and my role was;troubleshooting,repair and setting of sound systems and giving advice on electrical equipment.
3.February to September;Pathways International,as data analyst and team leader where I assign tasks,compel and submit reports to supervisor.
* Reading and writing.
*Going for exercise.
*Doing research online about trending technology.
*Giving back to the community.
*Preparing and splicing fibers.
