SKILLS PROFILE

Working In a Team: I believe I work well within teams as a result of my good interpersonal skills. I developed these skills over the years by being an sociable outgoing person who has been part of many teams and societies. To work well within a team I believe it is important to listen to what everyone in the team has to say and try to understand it from their perspective while also having the courage to speak out when you have an idea.

Health & Safety: During my placement I encountered constant H&S problems with  the brick layers removing internal hand rails and not using fall  bags. I decide to bring forward the installation of the birdcage  meaning that there was no fall issues for the brick layers when they started their 2nd lift. By following the hierarchy of control I improved H&S greatly by eliminating fall risks while requiring no additional resources.

Time Management: Throughout years of industry experience I have always worked with strict timeframes. Weather it was producing Operation & Maintenance manuals or meeting critical path dates.

Communication: I have developed my communications through a range of activities which includes inducting site operatives who do not have a good grasp of English and acting as a sales advisor communicating with customers.

Organisational Skills: In one of my previous roles I had to produce operation and maintenance manuals for a lot of different clients. These had to be finished and posted by a certain dates to ensure the company was not penalised financially. This made my organisation and time keeping on these tasks very important; requiring me to prioritise them in relation to their complexity and deadline date.

Hobbies/ Interests

I enjoy and have an interest in most athletic sports. I like to play golf with my society “The Castle” once a month. I enjoy playing indoor soccer with friends & playing for my local Gaelic club. I try my best to have a balanced lifestyle between physical and mental exercise, by going to the gym and reading novels of all varieties.

Spoken languages: english
