QA Manager / Test Lead (Contract) - 12 September 2012 - 20 October 2012 - Vodafone IT HQ
WiPro Consulting tasked me to liaise with the company's manager in charge of creating a new team for Vodafone IT, who is in the process of overhauling some of its core IT processes; the aim was the creating a QA team to handle everything related to Vodafone's OLGA (a proprietary billing system) system. As QA manager I helped recruit and interview the staff, create preliminary reports on the tools needed for the team and generally help with the setup of the team. The role ended prematurely due to a corporate directive to shift the focus from Vodafone IT to Vodafone Germany.

Senior Software Test Engineer & Team Leader (Contract) - April 2012-June 2012 - Testronic / Kabel Deutschland
Test Lead for Kabel Deutschland, leading Germany TV provider, where I was tasked in ensuring the compliance of different STB equipment while the company migrated part of its signals to new frequencies; in a small team comprising of 8 people we were tasked with planning and carrying out extensive regression tests on the existing EPG, validating the new operating frequencies with various lab equipment, as well as performing extensive UAT for the project, reporting directly to the IT engineering department of KBD.

The startup aims at building a company with significant traction for the incoming years by leveraging the rental income of selected commercial properties in the Miami metro area.

Sr. Test Engineer / QA Manager - January 2011 – September 2011

The assignment was to create an efficient QA department while trying to maximize the amount of automation, leaving the few valuable resources free to perform spot and ad-hoc testing in the critical area of the ongoing development. The software was a real estate platform for agencies disseminated throughout Australia. Working side by side with developers and with the added challenge of a cloud-based system (Google App Engine for Business + Amazon EC2), the team was able to implement a reliable and efficient systems that covered everything from unit testing (with junit) to performance to security/penetration testing. Everything was the integrated with the build process (Maven) so that at every Agile sprint we had a reliable assessment of the code quality, amount and type of issues encountered, as well as coverage of the marketing requirements down to the snippets of Java code responsible for the anomaly (easyB). The role involved also a great deal of manual testing, writing easyB stories for the various Agile Sprints, validating marketing and technical requirements and transforming them into cohesive test plans, perform security / stress / penetration testing on multiple OS and Browsers.

SWISSCOM, Milan, Italy - 2009 – August 2010 - Senior Software Test Engineer & Team Leader
Oversee development, execution, and automation of functional, system, regression, and performance testing for one of Europe’s largest telecom, voice, internet, and IPTV companies. Supervise staff of 35 in supporting and improving multiple business systems. Ensure quality and performance of all applications prior to production release. Test in-house and outsourced-developed software. Liaise with Developers and business analyst from the inception of the project to its deployment, offering bi-directional feedback on the ongoing testing of the application, technical issues encountered as well as manually performing a large number of test in a complex server infrastructure spanning H3G network apparatus to Billing Systems (Oracle 9g/11g) to CRM (Siebel CRM 8.1).
