I am a reliable, ambitious & highly motivated person, currently employed as a Mechanical Designer by Wilton Engineering.

Position: Structural / Mechanical Designer

June to Dec 2014 –
FCTs – Floating Cable Tank Loading Arm

I worked as part of a project taskforce undertaking the engineering and detailed design of a Loading Arm for a Floating Cable Tank. My duties as a Mechanical Designer included: Producing general arrangement & fabrication drawings in Inventor, to propose schemes & solutions to various problems within the design phase and to produce the related sketch drawings & 3D models.

I also produced 3D models of all the equipment required on the project using Autodesk Inventor and also kept up to date the project drawing registry, project BoMs and drawing files.

March to July 2014 –
N.O.V – Western Isles Mid-Water Arches

I worked as part of a large engineering design team, based at the Port Clarence Offshore Base in Middlesbrough, designing two Mid-Water Arches for the Dana Petroleum Western Isles Project. My duties as a Mechanical Designer were to produce fabrication drawings, detailed design drawings and associated 3D Models of various components & equipment using Autodesk Inventor.

Position: Design Engineer

At DNV GL I worked as part of a small engineering team that provided analysis & engineering consultancy to the Subsea, Marine and Oil & Gas industries.

My main duties as a design engineer included; producing 3D models in Autodesk Inventor, producing general arrangement, deck layout & fabrication drawings in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

Some of my other duties included mentoring graduate engineers, maintaining the office CAD systems and being the main point of reference for CAD and engineering drawing questions or queries.

Projects:
Nov 2012 to Feb 2013 – Subsea7 – Rope Deflector

I worked closely with a single lead engineer to design a rope deflection system for a 2-fall auxiliary hook. My duties as the lead design draughtsman were to produce initial concept models, proposal sketches, fabrication drawings, detailed design drawings and associated 3D Models using Autodesk Inventor.

I also had to produce and keep up to date drawing registers, BoMs, and drawing folders. As part of the client specification I also had to prepare drawings for 3rd party inspection by Lloyds Register.

Feb to Nov 2012 –
Subsea7 – Pipe Handling System / Field Coating Station

I worked as part of a large engineering design team, based at the Port Clarence Offshore Base in Middlesbrough, designing a Pipe Handling System and Field Coating Station for the Seven Seas pipe lay vessel. My duties as a design draughtsman were to produce fabrication drawings, detailed design drawings and associated 3D Models of various components & equipment using Autodesk Inventor.

I also had to keep up to date drawing registers, produce BoMs, Check drawings and contribute to the design of both the Coating Station & Pipe Handling System.

I worked as part of a large project taskforce undertaking the detailed design of a large aluminium casthouse facility in Saudi Arabia. My duties as a Mechanical Designer included: Producing general site arrangement & enlarged arrangement drawings in AutoCAD, to propose schemes & designs for various operations within the casthouse and to produce the related sketch drawings & 3D models.

I also produced 3D models of all the mechanical equipment on the project using Autodesk Inventor and also kept up to date the overall casthouse model using Autodesk Navisworks.
