Short Bio:

As can be seen from my CV I started as a Trainee Surveyor and have worked through the ranks over the last forty eight years, peaking as a Director for Murray and Roberts Civils.
The disciplines I have worked in although primarily Roads, Earthworks and associated Civils, have also covered a major Sewerage System in Botswana, Gaborone West Infrastructure Development as well as a large Irrigation System for rice growing in Madibira, Tanzania.
From 1978 to 1991 I served on the Board of Sladden International Botswana (Pty) Ltd.
Since leaving Murray and Roberts Civils in 2004 I have been freelancing.
Work done during this period:
Assisting with Tendering and Project Management for Bovani Construction.
Assisting with the start up of a large project in Botswana for Sladden International.
2008 to October 2010 Construction Manager for Hatch Africa on the Railway infrastructure for a new Iron Ore Mine at Sishen South Northern Cape.
November 2010 to April 2012: Senior Construction Manager for Raubex Construction. This was a permanent position with the promise that I would go on to a yearly contract basis when I turned 65 years old. Raubex were unable to fulfil this promise due to their small workload.
April 2012 to Present: Requested by Hatch Africa to complete the Sishen West Expansion Project as the E.P.C.M Construction Manager: This consisted of:
• 30km of Railway Line including Plate – laying and Overhead Tracking Equipment, and Signalling. It also involved the Jacking of a major tunnel under the existing Sishen Saldanha Ore line.
• A Rail over River Bridge and a Rail over Road Bridge.
• 2 No Electrical Sub-stations.
• Relocating of 11 Kms of a 66kva power Line.
This Project was completed in June 2013.
Although Hatch has had me on standby pending the award of another Rail Project from Transnet, which to date has not happened I was released by them as of 02 August 2013.08.10
I am now available to commence work immediately.
I am registered as a Professional Construction Manager and awaiting registration as a Professional Construction Mentor.
Due to my age I would obviously work on a year to year contract basis or on a Project basis.
I would also be willing to work in a Training or Mentorship role.
