CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

HODGSON PROJECTS & CONSTRUCTION Ltd. March 2002 to Date

Set up a small management company to project manage the development of 5 Houses and a block of 5 Flats. Using my skills and experience combined with external financial support the project was to build modern high value houses in a central area of Swansea.

All aspects of the Planning, Design and subsequent construction were managed by me. At all stages during the project I was involved with the day to day construction, management of subcontractors and the interaction with the various Authorities needed to ensure a satisfactory house at the end of the Development. Recent financial restructuring has meant that the project is on hold.

CALOR GAS JUNE 1984 to MARCH 2001 16 YEARS

Vice President – SHV Liquigaz – Manila – Philippines March 2000 to March 2001

Main objective was to develop and empower the ‘local’ operations team within a new start company. Liquigaz was new to the Philippine market thus I was responsible to set up standards in Safety, Supply and Service that reflected the SHV Group norms.

LPG supply to the Philippines was achieved through the ‘spot market’, I negotiated and purchased supply from various Hong Kong based brokers.

Technical & Operations Manager – SHV ASIA – Bangkok, Thailand April 1999 to March 2000

Area Manager based in Bangkok responsible for the Operations, Technical and Safety issues for the following Countries :-

• Philippines – Project Management of the new jetty project in Manila, 30 million GBP.

• Thailand – Preparation of Operation and Safety assessments of Plants and large customers, integration of new acquisition assets into SHV structure.

• Pakistan – Preparation of investment proposals, training of local staff.

• China – Training of local staff, Operational assessment of Business acquisitions, Safety advice.

• India – Ongoing support for the Project work associated to the Terminals.

Director – SHV India – Calcutta, India January 1998 to April 1999

Director in charge of the SHV North East India Joint Venture. Located in Calcutta, objective was to develop a business unit within three years, capable of 25 million USD turnover based on 50,000 tonnes LPG sales.

Key responsibilities and successes :-

• Sole director in charge. Identified, recruited, trained and empowered the management team.

• Launched to market after 6 months.

• Developed and implemented three year business plan for low risk investment strategy.

• Achieved start up targets whilst setting the standards and core values that reflected SHV needs.

Technical & Operations Manager – SHV India – Mumbai – January 1996 to January 1998

Main investments included LPG cylinders and valves, construction of filling plants and import terminals. A key objective was to achieve world class engineering at India related prices. Plants constructed in India are 1/3 cost of comparable in Europe and closely resemble European Standards.

Distribution and supply in India was achieved through third party contract. I was the SHV coordinator for the 3rd party supply and distribution companies, ensuring that the LPG cylinders and bulk were transported safely and efficiently.

I recruited and trained a technical team as my role changed to new venture development (Calcutta).

SHV Expansion Project – Central Europe January 1992 to January 1996

Chief Engineer responsible for introducing new engineering concepts to the Slovak operation.

In the Czech Republic my main project was to reduce the workforce from 120 to optimum. To achieve this new working practises and layout changes were identified and implemented.

Chief Engineer responsible for all engineering investments and standards. Specific accountability for the major investments such as rail import terminal and new filling plants. I contributed to the technical and operational rationalisation of the three business units purchased by SHV from the Hungarian State.

Calor Gas – Neath – Wales August 1990 to January 1992

Plant Manager in charge of all day to day operations inside filling plant. Responsibilities included Safety, Investments, liaison with cylinder customers, all workforce activity.

Senior Production Engineer. Project manager generally involved with major investments 100K to 3 Million GBP.
