Career Summary

Present Position: Since March 2011

Head of Department of Medical Diagnostic Imaging (MDI) at University Hospital Sharjah (UHS). Associate Professor – College of Medicine – University of Sharjah.

UHS is state of arts new hospital located at the University City, Sharjah; it started receiving patient late 2011, with 200 beds at the first phase to be increased to 320 beds at the second phase.

The MDI at UHS is equipped by MRI 1.5 T, Multidetector CT scan 128, angio and intervention suite, fluoroscopy room, general digital x-ray rooms, digital mammogram with stereotactic facility, 2 mobile x-ray machines, 2 C arm machines and four advanced ultrasound machines. All are connected to an advanced PACS and digital patient file with RIS facility.

NWAF hospital is a military referral hospital (550 beds) in the North West

Region Saudi Arabia Kingdom, the medical imaging department is recognised

by the Saudi council as a training centre of radiology, it’s well equipped

and updated department (5 general radiology room, fluoroscopy room,

Multidetector CT, angiography suite, MRI 1.5 tesla and 4 US rooms) and PACS-RIS system serving NWAFH, a satellite military hospital and peripheral clinics.

The average activity of the department is 100.000 examination per

year. Six consultants radiologist and four registrars are working in the department with more than 40 x-ray technicians.

I am a general radiologist with a particular interest and experience in paediatric radiology, ultrasound and mammography doing the general reporting, fluoroscopy examinations, CT scan, MRI, diagnostic angiography and the general intervention procedures (biopsies, drainages, PTC, PTD, Nephrostomy, etc…).

As a senior consultant and director of Radiodiagnostics & Medical Imaging Department for the last 14 years, I am actively involved in training of clinical radiology for residents in different specialties at weekly basis, either by delivering a dedicated lectures or case discussion.
