• Managed EPC for ERHA FPSO Topsides (1600 tons) at Malaysia Marine Heavy Engineering. There are nine (9) modules to be completed within six (6) months and shipped to Sembawang Shipyard Engineering Singapore, for final installation onto the biggest FPSO in the world.

• Managed Mechanical Installation Works on Guntong-E Production Platform at Sime Darby Engineering within yard’s schedule although most of the turbine generators, various pumps, turbine compressors, gas dehydration system, pedestal crane, oil water separators, flare system, hydrocarbon metering system, scrubbers, oil water separators, glycol contactor and chemical injection system were arrived later than expected.

• Managed FEED and EPIC of HVAC with ducting system in ERHA FPSO Local Electrical Room at Malaysia Marine Heavy Engineering. This is the biggest FPSO in the world. Installation of huge stainless ducting was carried out continuously during night shift to finish within very short period.

• Managed FEED and EPIC of Air Fin Coolers (Heat Exchangers) for MTBE (Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether) and Polypropylene (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd at Gebeng, Pahang. Challenge: 12 weeks deadline, to use rare A516 Cr60 steel due to operating temp -46C and stringent safety regulation. Project completed as per schedule.

• Managed FEED and EPIC of 20 units 80 meters radio/communication steel towers for Dialog at Sri Lanka within stipulated schedule. Managed to choose reliable civil, sub-station building and steel sub contractors in this unsafe island (4 sites were within war zone area between Tamil Tigers and Sri Lankan Army). Won another on-going contract to FEED and EPIC 25 units 100 meters steel towers due to good performance records.

• Managed construction of 2 warehouses at Johor Ports.

• Managed construction of one unit of school including a hostel and a mosque.

• Assisted Project Manager managed EPC project of Residue Catalytic Cracker Refinery Complex at Pulau Ular Singapore for Shell Eastern Petroleum when attached to Chiyoda Corporation, involving construction and installation of pipe racks, heat exchangers, catalytic cracker pressure vessels, piping system, reactors steel structures and architectural.

• Tendering, installing, testing and commissioning of 15 units of telecommunication steel towers (between 80 to 120 meters tall) in East and West Malaysia.

• Managed FEED and EPIC of HVAC system in Guntong A Production Platform at Malaysia Shipyard and Engineering. This is the first single oil and gas project for Dynac due to my connection with the Malaysia Shipyard and Engineering Malaysia.

• Managed erection Heavy Duty 70 meter telemetry steel tower required by Petronas Carigali at Kerteh, East Malaysia.

Ship-repair Manager (Hull), 05/1982 to 09/1985 – 3 years 4 months

Malaysia Shipyard and Engineering

• One of the biggest shipyards in the world.

• Responsible to repair various kind of vessels and carry out ship conversions work in the yard and offshore.

• Prepare specifications and schedule according to clients’ requirement, liaise with ship’s superintendant, conducting ship check at offshore or dry-dock, briefing repair items to section concerned, monitoring and checking the works in progress, final inspection and testing in attendance of classification surveyor/owner, and writing completion reports.
