Short Bio:

I completed high school with pass marks in all standards grades, completed a Gsvq level two in information Technology, Completed an svq 2/3 in Carpentry & Joinery along with an apprenticeship, i worked for 9 years with a local company in Dunfermline. In Jan2013 i started my own business Gary Miller Joinery which is on still on-going now. I have now completed my Universal Offshore Training, Minimum Industry Safety Training and I Have passed an Offshore medical. I am ready for a start offshore when called upon.

• Overview: I set up a company in my own name and provide all aspects of Joinery mainly to residential properties around the Central Scotland Area.

Overview: I provided all aspects of joinery and manual skilled labour on private and commercial projects. This involved all aspects of first and second fix, from fire protection to high class finishes. I have had the responsibility of supervising my own jobs, training other workers, having the use of power tools and having a vast knowledge of health and safety. I also have workshop experience with making doors, bespoke cabinets, screens and operating the cutting, moulding and planer machines. I have worked with all kinds of materials and fixings ranging from Timbers, Plastics, Fibreglass and Metals.

• Overview: I was based in the Customer Services department and was responsible for Policyholder & Trustee enquires. I provided information on various Occupation pension schemes, policy values, yearly statements and settlement benefits. I liaised with customers via the telephone on a daily basis and ensured a high level of customer service at all times. General administration was also an important part of my role. I organised and prioritised all incoming mail enquiries and responded to them via telephone and in writing.

• Overview: I began working as a part – time checkout operator after college and continued in this role for a year. This involved meeting and greeting customers and cash handling duties. I was then given the opportunity to be trained in warehouse duties. My duties here included the smooth running and organisation of the warehouse, receiving of incoming deliveries and supervision of goods in & goods out. I also had to make sure the warehouse was extremely clean and tidy by disposing of waste, materials and mopping floors, so everything met health and safety regulations.
