Achievements

● As the Shift in Charge, coordinated the Lokoja shift in attaining unparalleled record production of 32,499 tons of crushed limestone in 3 days in August 2008 – Obajana Cement PLC

● As the Drilling in Charge, designed a fishing tool used in recovering lost drill string thus saving capital that otherwise would have been spent to procure replacement

● As the Shift in Charge, coordinated the Kabba Shift in attaining a record performance of 19,134 tons of limestone in 10hrs 48mins on 1st February 2010. The installed capacity of the Hazemarg crusher is 2,000 tph. The performance ranked the best of its kind since the installation of the plant in 2004 – Obajana Cement PLC

Job Description:

The Oyo – Iwaa limestone quarry of Obajana Cement Plc. is a highly mechanized quarry that produces crushed limestone with a 2000 TPH Hazemarg impact crusher and 400TPH Bedeschi roller crusher.

Each shift runs 12hrs with 35 operators, 3 Mining engineers and a CCR operator.

● Analyzing quarry operations and set plans for improvement. Areas include general site and equipment operation safety, overburden removal, drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, crushing, water management, and limestone and raw mix quality.

● Reviewing deviations from set targets with the Process and Quality departments, and develop corrective actions.

● Overseeing the contractors and plant employees who conduct the mining activities at the quarry operations and ensure that mining operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.

● Managing the mining plans in conjunction with Geology department to provide the plant with quality limestone for the manufacturing process while optimizing the use of the limestone reserves for both the short and long term.

● Supervising the crushing operation and provide adequate limestone inventories.

● Maintaining working relationship with all departments to see that raw material needs are met.

● Participating in the capital and operating budget processes to help plant meet goals and objectives.
