The key responsibility includes:

• All project management and project engineering activities for 4x171 MW detail engineering project.
• Responsible for assisting project manager in entire project management activities for managing the project within stipulated time, adhering to project schedule and budget.
• Involved in project engineering and project management activities from pre-bid engineering stage through basic and detail engineering.
• Involved in preparation tender technical specification for Boiler and ESP, Turbine and Air Cooled Condenser for 2 x 300 MW Botswana Project. Attended pre-bid clarification and post bid clarification meeting with various boiler and turbine vendors such as BHEL, Siemens, Thermax, Ansaldo etc. Involved in preparation of bid evaluation report for BTG package.
• Managed the project as per schedule and planning, monitored the project progress, weekly review and monitoring of man-hours and budget for various disciplines such as civil, mechanical, electrical and C&I involved in detail engineering activities.
• Prepared Monthly progress report, minutes of meetings, successfully organized kick-off meeting, and technical meeting with various vendors for Botswana Project. Also organized weekly review meeting with Mott MacDonald UK team.

Project Title – 1040 MW Hinduja National Vizag Thermal Power Project

As a mechanical engineer (Owner’s Engineer) for 2 x 520 MW (1040 MW) Hinduja National Thermal Power Corporation at Vizag, involved in review engineering of Boiler Turbine Generator (BTG) area and water systems.

The key responsibility includes:

• Involved in preparation of specifications, data sheets, scope of work from design stage
• Involved in approval of various mechanical and thermal sizing calculations for boiler and boiler auxiliaries like fans, mills, air-preheater, Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) turbine and turbine auxiliaries like Boiler Feed Pump (BFP) and Condensate Extraction Pump (CEP), condenser, HP heaters, LP heaters, vacuum pumps etc.
• Review and approval of engineering drawings and documents like GA Drawings, P&IDs, Heat and Mass Balance Diagrams, Water Balance Diagrams, design basis reports, PG test procedures according to project contractual scope of work and specification requirements
• Ensured all work is carried out in accordance with applicable codes like ASME codes and standards, HEA standards within the boundaries of the asset basis of design and according to tender specification requirements
• Knowledge of various test codes like ASME PTC 4.0, ASME PTC 6.0 etc.

The project was Sea Water Based Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) Plant at 2x250 MW Reliance Energy Dahanu Thermal Power Station. Involved in the project right from start to finish (Project engineering and Project Management)-from estimating through design to commissioning stage.

The key responsibility includes:

• I was Project Engineer responsible for handling key mechanical packages for Sea Water Based FGD at Dahanu TPP right from concept till commissioning of FGD. FGD has Efficiency of 99% sulphur removal
• Involved in preparation of technical specifications, data sheets, scope of work for Gas to Gas Heater (GGH), Booster Fan, Sea Water Pumps, Travelling Water Screens and Stop log Gates, Oxidation Blowers, Ball valves, and Butterfly valves, Gate Valves, EOT Cranes and Hoists etc.
• Involved in Review and approval of engineering drawings and documents like GA Drawings, P&IDs, according to project contractual scope of work and specification requirements, preparation of valve schedule
• Assisted engineering team for finalizing mechanical and thermal sizing calculations for Booster Fan, Sea Water Pumps, and Oxidation Blowers etc.
• Assisted procurement department for finalization of purchase orders and work orders.
• Ensured all work is carried out in accordance with applicable codes like ASME codes and standards, HEA standards within the boundaries of the asset basis of design and according to tender specification requirements.
