In the last 3 years I have been involved on two industrial projects in KSA: Rabigh phase II petrochemical project (Aramco Overseas Company BV & Sumitomo Chemical CO.LTD), which is still ongoing, and on SAFCO V - Stand Alone Urea Project (SAFCO - Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company).

Role: Design Engineer Leader; Filed Project Specialist Leader; Construction & Commissioning Superintendent.

Working in an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) company, my activities include the development of new projects in all the phases: Feasibility studies; Bidding phase; Basic design; FEED; Detail engineering; Filed engineering; Site supervision; Commissioning and Close out activities.

Together with the project management team, during the design phase my responsibility is to coordinate and manage the engineering team acting as leader for all the technical parts which are concerning HVAC and Building Services (fire & gas alarm; fire-fighting; fire-protection; electrical and telecommunication systems) for various typologies of projects like: Oil & Gas plants, Chemical plants; Industrial plants; Energy plants; FPSO; Hospitals; Laboratories and Civil Buildings.

During the construction phase my role is to support the construction team, working together with the quality control team, procurement department, subcontractors, clients and PMT.

Main Activities:
• Lead engineering team providing inputs and directions for the design of HVAC & Building Services system serving Electrical Substations, Process interface Buildings, Rack Rooms, Control Buildings, Administration Buildings, Blast Resistant Buildings, Industrial Buildings, Offshore buildings, FPSO, Hospitals and Civil Buildings;

• Coordinate with all disciplines to ensure that all inputs are considered in the design;

• Attend the meetings with clients and control the required actions in a professional manner to achieve project goals;

• Ensure project optimization and fully compliance with the contract, standards and local regulations & law;

• Review and approval of the documentation issued by Eng. Contractor / suppliers according to the requirements in order to finalize / optimize the detailed engineering;

• Carry out the necessary follow-ups with subcontractors and vendors for timely execution of the works during engineering and construction phase;

• Direct field engineering activities to support the construction and manage any modification to be conform to specifications and client requirements.
