This role is a wide and varied one; I was responsible for setting the service budgets for the year and ensuring the five depot managers can adhere to them. Other responsibilities include ensuring that the health and safety policy is adhered to, and managing the company warranty claims on suppliers, in this role I have achieved in bringing the outstanding claims down from £150,000 to currently £25,000, this has been achieved by putting in a system of regular chasing of suppliers and more accurate entering of claims.

Liasing with various suppliers on any parts and service issues that we may have, and any customer complaint or query that may occur, I visit and sort direct with the customer.

Responsible for the service departments across the five depots, with the service managers in each depot reporting to me.

During this time paperwork procedures for the field and workshop engineers was changed to allow for monitoring of all there working hours, this increased the engineers efficiency from 55% to 95% plus, along with this I had got head office to produce monthly reports so I could monitor all the various types and amounts of incomes each engineer was achieving.

Arranged with customers fixed price and menu servicing so customers knew there running costs over a period of hours worked, the take up on this went from zero to 80% of new m/c’s having a service contract.

Engineers and service managers also used me as technical support for Case construction machines which involved going to site and working with the engineer.

I was transferred from J.I Case Europe Ltd with continuation of service due to Case getting out of direct sales outlets in the UK and moving it to dealers. CRMS was an existing Case dealer in Devon so the opening of TLX depot was a new venture for them.

Main responsibility was to grow this new depot.

A staff of two storemen, five service engineers, two salesmen and a service controller were employed.

During this time the depot grew from a staff of three, myself, an engineer and a salesman, up to eleven.
