Short Bio:

For many years I have primarily been involved in Engineering. I have managed/supervised and participated in engineering projects at all stages and phases including as far and wide as China. After surviving a Helicopter crash in Africa whilst serving with the Army, I gained technical qualifications and after graduating went on to work for a recycling company. A plant that I personally oversaw the successful procurement and construction of, namely an HDPE recycling plant (the First in the world.)

STAND-IN SUPERVISOR MECHANICAL FITTER

Responsibilities :

Ensuring that all engineering/repair work especially Hydraulic’s is carried out on all underground machinary (JOY, SANDVIK Mining machinary in accordance to all specified maintenance procedure and method statements.

Oct 2011- June 2012 SSI REDCAR BLAST FURNACE RESTART PROJECT

PROJECT ENGINEER SELF EMPLOYED

Responsibilities:

Ensuring that all engineering work was to be carried out in accordance with specifications, statutory requirements, laws, rules, regulations and any other contractual requirements specified by the customer. Due to the very nature of this particular project, strong regards to Health & Safety where particularly adhered too and strictly enforced.

• Appointed person with duty of, the issuing of permits under the permit to work control system

• Conducted site inductions ensuring confidence and understanding in the contractors prior to site population.

While unemployed I bought a portion of my parent’s large rear garden and set about building a house. Not only have I been using my normal workplace skills (Project management, budget and timelines) but, also turning my hand to many of the construction practices (Groundwork’s/drainage, concreting and roofing) to name a few.
