Construction Project Manager for AMC at Al Qassim airpot (KSA) , for AMG at The International Convention Center in Abuja (Nigeria) and previously for AMBS at the new Sport City in Basrah (Iraq) for The Ministry of Youth and Sport. Previously I worked for 24 years in Tier 1 Spanish Construction Companies such as FCC ; ACS and Acciona, carrying out a wide range of Projects including “Torres Puerta de Europa in Plaza de Castilla de Madrid “ (Leaning Towers) and covered Bullring in Leganés (Madrid), etc, and performing different responsibilities including Jefe de Obra (Project Manager) and Planning and Cost Department Manager.

I also worked as a Mining Engineer for 5 years immediately after completing my degree.

All through my professional life I have received acknowledgment and promotion from the companies I worked for, as you can see from the progress of my career and my job responsibilities in the projects.

Planning and Cost Departmental Manager Experience: FCC . Planning and Cost Departmental Manager for projects such as Leaning Towers in Plaza de Castilla (Madrid) and Covered Bullring in Leganés (Madrid)

Achievements: I was in charge of compiling the bid/valuation of the Leaning Towers “Puerta Europa” for the restart of the Project after the Gulf War. The value total was around 500 M € in 1994 and the bid was approved and finally became the contractual budget providing the Company with considerable profits.

Topographer/Planning Engineer.-5 years working for ENCASUR in Peñarroya Pueblonuevo (Córdoba). (1982-1988) The first year as a Topographer in shaft coal mining (underground mining) in the “Porvenir” area. The next four years as responsible for “Corta Cervantes” Plannig Department. This mine with 10 M Tn coal deposit produced 500.000 Tn per year and it was considered the most important mine in this area.

As a planning engineer I carried out the design of the mine. This work consisted of determining the amount of mineral, the mining system, measurement of machinery for extraction of mineral and non valuable material, measurement of the depth of the mine, design of trails , etc. Once the activities were started the work consisted of designing of the advance of mining, checking productions with forecasts, etc.

Description.- The International Convention Center is conceived to deliver a world class Convention center that will be one of the top three such facilities in the world.(phase 1 – USD 500 M)

The Convention Center is a state-of-art facility that meets international convention standards with a design that portrays an international iconic status for Abuja and Nigeria, it consists of a convention center, exhibition facility, a Twin hotel (5-star and 3-star) and a 200 m high tower.

Key Responsibilities.-

-Liaise and work with stakeholders on the ICC project, fully reporting to client the Central Bank of Nigeria.

-Leading and motivating the Project Management Team to ensure that Client’s objectives for the Project are achieved,

-Overall responsibility for the Asset Management Group’s Quality Management System and Safety /Environmental Management System.

– Construction Management strategy advice.

Position: Project Manager at BSC (New Basrah Sport City)

Description.- This project comprises one Main Stadium with 65.000 seats , a secondary Stadium with 15.000 seat (both of them compliant with FIFA requirements and 1 Category Certification IAAF Athletics) , two training fields, 8 accommodation buildings with 288 bedrooms, fire station, Plant water treatment, extensive infrastructure and landscapes

Key Responsibilities.-

-Responsible for providing supervision services in the Architectural and Civil scope, ensuring that construction work in the Project in this regard is in compliance with the Contract Specifications (FIDIC) and International building codes, standards, practices and procedures specified in the Project.

-Assist the Project Team in review /approval of the documents such as shop drawings and work method statements submitted by Main Contractor.

-Performing and ensure implementation of plans and programs and take necessary action in case of any gap or delays.

-Periodical meetings with Contractors, designer and the Ministry to review progress and status of work.
