Hydrogen combustor design and development for Industrial application (Sept-12 to April-13) Prof D P Mishra

Project was aimed at design, development and experimental optimization of a 25 KW hydrogen combustor. Different nozzle geometries and swirler configurations were tested, operating conditions optimized using techniques of design of experiment, empirical relations were published and technical reports were also prepared. Work resulted in patent.

Laser ignition of Jet-A1 Fuel spray in closed combustor (May-13 to Feb-14) Prof D P Mishra

Aim of the project was study of spray for a particular nozzle and laser ignition of spray in closed combustor using Nd:YAG Laser. Laser pulse energy measurement and determination of optimum ignition location and minimum ignition energy. The project is in its final stages.

• Developed in-house ABS using atmega-16 microcontroller and tested single wheel system.

Lunar Rover Vehicle Design (May 2009-Feb 2010)

• Developing of kinematic model for determining lunar rover vehicle position and orientation using tilt sensor and laser based sensing. Image processing algorithm for wheel sinkage determination.
