Short Bio:

Currently seeking a senior qualified accountancy position , and immediately available,
My last role was with Middlesex University as a Project Accountant / Fixed asset accountant relating to project costs on buildings at different sites of the University, a hostel complex and a restaurant at the University.
I am a chartered accountant FCA ( ICAEW ) with over 35 years UK accountancy experience in industry, commerce, public sector, charities ( United Grand Lodge of England , Action For Blind People ) and the profession both in contract / interim and permanent positions.
I have worked as a Project accountant at Construction Group in London called Brown and Root Limited and also Kaverner Group dealing with Projects and accounting for these construction projects , costs update and charging costs to relevant projects, checking with value of work certified with invoices and approving payments for projects after deducting retention money. Calculating work in progress and monitoring actual costs expended on the projects against the budgets and taking remedial actions. Where the projects had been prepared under cost at the time of bidding, made a case for rebidding the projects based on revised actual costs
I have also worked for 1 year in Saudi Arabia as a financial controller / project accountant for the largest computer consultancy called Al-khaleej Computers and Electronic Systems Limited in 1991 / 1992 in Riyadh dealing with four multimillion pounds projects ( Saudi Customs, Saudi Royal Airforce, BAE Systems and Saudi Telecom ) The projects involved maintaining the software and hardware including the supply of IT personnel for the projects, the total costings and profitability of the projects.
I have prepared three year's budgets for the Metropolitan Police Services-London in December 95-May 96

My accountancy career has been since 1981-1991 and 1993 to date mainly deliberately channeled along contract and interim basis as apposed to permanent positions through various accountancy recruitment agencies in London-Reed Finance, Hays Finance, Michael Page Finance working for their clients . So I have worked as a Financial Controller, Project Accountant, Systems Development and Tax Accountant using different software such as Oracle, Sage, Sap, Opera, Tetra etc.

I have also set up a standard costing system for a large fire extinguishing company in Aldershot with procedures defined to determine variances the between actual and budgeted standard costs and to take remedial actions for corrections

I have also prepared Consolidated Group Accounts, and Consolidated Cash flow forecast at Interchange Group Limited under UK GAAP
