I spent seven years in Tata Steel as coded welder undertaking a multi skilled role, including in the workshop, sub-arc on rolls, codings in flux core mig and 6G mma. Carrying out repairs through out the plant utilising profile cutter oxy acetylene cutting. Welding heavy duty plate from 10mm-120mm thick some times even thicker.

• Undertaking a multi skilled role with a variety of duties and responsibilities, including working in the workshop, sub-arc on rolls, 6G codings in flux core and MMA

• Working in the plant and carrying out repairs through two daily shifts, utilising profile cutter to sever steel plate 12 – 100mm

• Personally responsible for welding set oxy propane acetylene, cutting flames, handling MIG flux core welding and heavy duty welding up to 50mm thick hard ox toughen plate for utilisation on the plate machine

• Working closely with carpenters on shuttering putting mesh when carrying coding test on the welding BS 4872 stairs handrails and HD bolts for machinery and column beams

• Utilising 12mm plate of steel and channelizing to make the body flame by cutting guillotine with straight line cutter arc when converting dump truck to water bowser for quarry sites

• Making plate hard ox redundant when carrying out MIG flux core welding, using various flame cutters, including burning lamps and arc gouging rods measuring between 4mm–6mm low hydrogen

• Constructing small scale bridges / buildings and conducting flame cutting and drilling of guillotine and welding

• Repairing plant machinery on quarry plant in South Wales through TIG / MIG Welding and basic fabrication to fire escapes

• Carrying out repairs of whole quarry plant and mobile crusher plant when working across multiple quarries, including Hanson and Machan quarries as well as most tarmac quarries located in South Wales

• Using angle iron 6mm gauge when putting in false floor and cutting cheque plate for the associated HD bolts

• Conducting expansions for Buildings Bridge work, utilising 3mm-10mm thick flat plate from 1.0mm–300mm thick columns 8mmm–24mm burning and using pug straight line cutter gouging arc / flame cutting
