Previous Employment Details:

1. 04/2016 – On Going Şişli Florence Nightingale Hospital (Istanbul) – Cell Manufacturing and Tissue Banking Center; Quality Control Supervisor / Assistant Manager
As a founding personnel, I am working full time as the Quality Control Supervisor of Şişli Florence Nightingale Hospital Cell Manufacturing and Tissue Banking Facility. I was assigned for establishing the documentation and working mechanism of the facility and also preparing the facility for GMP license and official authorization from the Turkish Ministry of Health. I am responsible for maintaining the quality of cellular products (mesenchymal stem cells, fibroblasts and chondrocytes) manufactured and tissue products (cord blood, bone marrow, skin, cornea, amniotic membrane, femoral heads, heart valves) banked in our GMP laboratories. To maintain the quality of our products, I am in charge of performing and tracking microbiological analysis (sterility, toxicity and mycoplasma analysis), immunohistochemical analysis (flow-cytometry) and genetic analysis (gene expression, telomerase enzyme activity) to our cellular and tissue products. I am also responsible to track and analyze the environmental conditions and the quality of the consumables used in our laboratories to assure that they are all meeting the GMP standards.

3. 02/2017 – On Going VCell&VGen Biotechnology
Working as co-founder and executive of VCell-VGen Biotechnology. Turkey's first and only stem cell manufacturing institute for cats, dogs and horses. VCell-VGen is established in one of Istanbul's earliest animal hospitals (VetLine), offering cellular therapy products for veterinaries to be clinically used in pets. For now VCell-VGen is manufacturing feline and canine umbilical cord derived mesenchymal stem cells (autologous or allogenic), stromal vascular fraction and PRP products.

4. 05/2013 – 03/2016 Liv Hospital (Ulus/Istanbul) – Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research & Manufacturing (LivMedCell); Quality Control Supervisor
I have worked full time as the quality control supervisor of Liv Hospital (Istanbul/Ulus) Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research & Manufacturing. I was also the supervisor of Molecular Biology and Genetics Laboratory in LivMedCell’s R&D Center. My responsibilities have included sterility testing (environment and product), microbiological, immunohistochemical (Flow-cytometry) and genetic analysis (gene expression analysis, telomerase activity tests, mycoplasma detection) of the biological products (cell/tissue products) produced in LivMedCell’s GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) laboratories, before they were applied to patients.

5. 06/2007 – 08/2007 Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute (Oakland, California) – Molecular Biology Laboratory; Visiting Fellow (Mentor: Gordon Watson Ph.D.)
I worked on a different aspect of the SLOS project. The goal was to see if mRNA expression microarrays could be used to determine the nature and extent of abnormal gene expression caused by the SLOS condition. From fetal mouse brain samples I isolated both DNA and RNA. I used the DNA for PCR tests to determine both the genotype and sex of the fetuses. The RNA was then hybridized to microarrays representing 24,000 different genes to see if there are different patterns of gene expression in SLOS mice compared to normal littermates.
