Short Bio:

Teacher, Lecturer and Scuba diving instructor enthusiast looking for a fresh challenge.

I am very self-motivated, energetic and enthusiastic about work that I enjoy and find fulfilling. I am passionate about re-settlement and enjoy motivating prisoners to consider self-employment as an option after release. As a “people person”, I get a kick out of helping others and doing something worthwhile. I am a good listener. I can work on my own but have no problem working as part of a team. My experience in Belize taught me tolerance and a deeper understanding of other cultures and ways of working with people from a completely different background, culture and language to myself. The “zero to hero” course I undertook with the two young offenders was particularly rewarding. At Shepton I was given the prison magazine to run, and I completely turned it around, producing a magazine which attracted outside funding and has been nominated for three Koestler awards. I also edit a blog for a prison writer. It made the shortlist for the Orwell prize for literature 2010 and has a readership of over 20,000 per month.
