Short Bio:

I have 18 years offshore experience as a Marine Engineer, the last 3 being equipment maintenance supervisor on DP2 S lay rigid pipelaying vessel. I was responsible for all equipment associated with the pipe laying ability of the vessel, including but not only, 3 x 125 MT Remacut Tensioners, 1 x 400MT NOV abandonment and recovery winch, 2 x 40MT NOV MSB12 diesel hydraulic cranes, 1 x 1200MT NOV Amclyde PC-37 Post crane, various HPU's and associated hydraulic machinery. I am also responsible for the welfare of the deck engineering department which consists of hydraulic technicians, instrument technicians, tensioner operators and mechanics. Whilst my background is mainly mechanical, I have some training in Rockwell drives and a basic electrical understanding commensurate with my role as supervisor. I have been responsible for all planned maintenance, and ensuring that we have adequate spare parts for upcoming services, equipment failure etc. I have recently undertaken the Control of Work training relating to Permits to Work, LOTO etc. I fully participate in the writing of JRA's (Job Risk Assessments) and tool box talks prior to every evolution. I am fully conversant with the issuant of permits to work for working at height, hot work, cold work and confined space entry etc. I am conversant with the Code of safe working practices and various regulations such as LOLER. The vessel has been involved in various pipelines and heavy lift operations including 30 inch concrete coated pipeline and a 750 MT accommodation block installation
