Pipefitter

Working for Wood Group on the Shetland Islands on a BP terminal, Sullem Voe. The job was major refurbishment of the terminal. Work included taking out old pipe work and valve systems, refurbishing or replacing with new, doing pressure tests on the systems and re installing and torquing up all joints.

Working on small cargo boats we would strip them out and reinstall the whole boat with new pipe work, engines, generators etc.

Working in a clean room environment doing orbital welding. Working on stainless steel pipe work ranging from ¼ inch to 1 inch. Measuring out layout, cutting and bending pipes and attaching fittings. Welding them together using an orbital welder and fitting them.
