In 2009 applied for the internally advertised position of the largely pivotal role of Product Manager and was promoted into this role.

• Management of the Product Lifecycle

• Ensure that product portfolio is in line with business unit group product strategy

• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the Products meets the current and future needs of our customers

• Being the expert for the market, product and competition for the given product portfolio.

• Manage the creation and communication of product messaging and position to raise awareness, support sales and differentiate products in the market place, including user guides and bills of materials.

• Manage all major global product launches.

• Support the sales team during pre-sales customer visits, trade fairs, end users, journalists and conferences to ensure product understanding and consistent messaging

• Training and mentoring of new Product Managers joining the global team.

• Using Project Management Tools in setting up of these market needs in to commercially viable concept projects using financial costing tools to reach target laminate sale price, within specification to end user needs and within set target season timelines.

• Sourcing and researching components for final products from a range of global suppliers in Asia Pacific region: – Taiwan, China, Thailand, Korea, USA and Europe.

• Negotiating supplier costs, specifications within an agreed quality standard and test specification.

• Project Managing and leading the New Product Development teams to complete commercialisation of concepts into commercial laminated materials.

New Product Developer
1999 – 2010

• Understanding market needs and product requirements from customers.

• Making concepts into commercial saleable products. Product being ePTFE polymer laminated (Gore patented process) to textile materials using adhesives. Liaising with Process Engineers, Manufacturing team and Laboratory Team to get Project plan together to organise trial manufacturing plan for lamination. Working on establishing machine settings and specifications. Establish a test plan for lab team of the laminated trials and statistically pulling all data together to review with cross functional teams in order to sign off completion as commercially available product. • Commissioned and implemented a new manufacturing lamination line specialising in lamination of GORE-TEX® leather for the Motorsports business sector.

• Global alignment of launches to time scale. Seasonal timelines typically 6 month projects

• Budgeting projects to fit business model.

• Statistical product mothering – maintaining product health in market.

• Technical feasibility studies on concepts. Working actively as part of a small team after inventing a brand new technology conceptual idea with the aim of patent filing

• Design of meaningful laboratory trials to emulate consumer use – also police true field-testing.
