PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

August 2014- Ongoing
THE PEACOCK AT ROWSLEY
HOTEL ASSISTANT

The Peacock is a 3 AA Rosetta restaurant and hotel. The hotel is a very well-known hotel and very high standard, people such as Benedict Cumberbatch, the band Take That and Keira Knightly have stayed at the hotel while I have been working there. This means we have to give our highest standard of professionalism at all times. My main jobs are Fine Dine waiting, this consists of bringing the guests to their seats, offering them a wide selection of wines and matching some wines to their meals. Making sure I am always there if they have any complaints or questions. We have to learn the menu off by heart so we can give detailed descriptions of the dishes to the customers.

My next role is working in  the bar twice a week. This involves suggesting  the right wine to accompany  the meal they have chosen or if the customer has visited just for drinks I can make them any drink requested whether it be the perfect gin and tonic to classic Pimms, I had a customer write into the hotel to say how excellent my gin and tonic was and it was the best one she had ever had!

I  have to be adaptable –  covering  staff on the reception when they have to have their breaks or if we are short staffed, answering phones, showing guests to their rooms and booking people in for dinner or accommodation.

April 1st 2013 – August 2014
LOWDHAMS LEISURE
SHOP ASSISTANT & VEHICLE DESPATCHER

When I started working for Lowdhams in 2013 my role was working in the shop and here I would be the first point of contact for customers. In the space of a month I had to learn everything from the basic to the challenging. Going into the company not knowing anything about caravans and motorhomes was challenging but  paid off after I was offered a promotion in January 2014. The new role consisted of working more outdoors and being more technical i.e fitting radios, ensuring all electrics are working inside the vans and making sure the customers are fully happy with the van they have bought.

July 2012-February 2013
ALPINE ELEMENTS
HOTEL ASSISTANT BASED IN FRANCE & AUSTRIA

My role consisted of housekeeping, serving breakfast and evening meals and providing basic entertainment for the guests.

I worked in a 35 people chalet as a hotel assistant.  We were expected to be the face of the company and show professionalism, compassion and openness to the guests, allowing them to feel relaxed and comfortable in our care.

I thoroughly enjoyed this job and particularly loved interacting with the guests and meeting new people.

March 2012-July 2012
HOME BARGAINS
SHOP ASSISTANT

Here I worked on the tills and also on the shop floor ensuring the shelves were fully stocked at all times. If a customer had any enquires I was always available to answer any questions for them having comprehensive knowledge base about the products we stocked  Here we worked closely as a team and I was a co-operative and eager team member.

May 2011-October 2011
THOMSON AL FRESCO
HOLIDAY REPRESENTATIVE BASED IN ITALY

Here, I was point of contact for the guests. I was there to assist in problems and help where possible, for example: arranging trips, housekeeping, being on-call to answer the phone at any hour and to generally help to ensure they had a great holiday. The company has very high standards which I strived to achieve everyday and was evident from the feedback I received from guests.

2009 – 2011
PRIMARK RETAIL
SALES ASSISTANT

Whilst working here I provided customer service.  I worked on the tills, stocking and general up-keep of the shop area. Here I improved my customer service and organisational skills.
