EXPERIENCE

Duties and Responsibilities Ballast Control Operator:

Ballast and de-ballast the rig as required to maintain station

Monitor all ballast controls and related instrumentation

Record reports pertaining to stability, boat, and helicopter movements, safety drills and rig activities in the daily logbook

Maintain a continuous listening watch on VHF radio and maintain regular communication with supply and standby vessels

Monitor variable deck load on a daily basis to calculate and maintain the rig’s stability

Prepare the daily and weekly stability report for the rig

Monitor fire alarms, engine conditions, gas detection alarms and take action as directed on Station Bill

Coordinate all helicopter and supply boat traffic to and from the rig

Assist in supervising the transfer of bulk material to and from the rig

Monitor quantities of expendable such a fuel, potable water, drill water and report all finding to Barge Supervisor

Inform the Barge Supervisor or Assistant Barge Supervisor about any anomalies, which may affect the safe and efficient operation of the rig

Carry out Preventative Maintenance on ballast control equipment and other marine equipment as required

Inspect ballast equipment and other marine operation and lifesaving equipment, as required, for safe working conditions

Test fire fighting equipment, obstacle lighting, and audible signals

Monitor the weather conditions and rig motions

Assist in supervising the deck crew during routine and non-routine marine operation

Assist the Barge Supervisor in carrying out rig move plans, aid anchor handling boats, and perform mobilization and demobilization preparations.

Duties and responsibilities as Assistant Barge Engineer:

Assist the barge Engineer (Master) with completing all necessary reports in a comprehensive and timely manner.

Assist the barge Engineer (Master) with the management and supervise maintenance of the Tender and related equipment including close out of all PMS documentation.

Assist the barge Engineer (Master) with the maintenance the unit’s statutory certification and records as required by Class and Flag by means of survey or by any other mandatory regulations issued by IMO etc or any other local country/authority regulatory body.

Assist the barge Engineer (Master) with conducting weekly inspections of both cranes and submitting to onshore support signed inspection reports stating the condition of the cranes.

Verify that the crane operators daily shift inspection check sheets are completed correctly and on time and filed for future review.

Attend all Safety and Training Courses that are deemed necessary for his job position, which are either a Company or Operator requirements.

Assists with drills and trains personnel in scenario response consistent with the Tender Contingency and Emergency Manual requirements.

Perform other duties as directed by the OIM or Barge Engineer

Responsible for the safe and efficient transfer of bulk materials.
