Profile

I’m a Project Leader, Outreach Worker and Educator with over 10 years experience in a variety of settings, locations and cultures. I am an effective communicator and good organiser and have always been able to work flexibly and multi-task. I have been a reliable and trustworthy part of any team that I have worked with and always acted with integrity. I am an active and enthusiastic person with an interest especially in life outdoors. I am knowledgeable about the environment and conservation and have presented radio shows and written articles on such subjects. I have also taught young people and led activities based on these subjects. My other interests include foraging and cookery.

Training and Accreditation Leader and OCN/Certa Internal Verifier, Bradford Youth Development Partnership:

Responsible for developing BYDP as an official Certa/OCN (Open College Network) accreditation centre and internally verifying courses and portfolios registered through BYDP as well as providing training and supervision to staff. Responsible for co-ordinating an early intervention scheme for 8-13 year olds judged ‘at-risk’ as well as managing staff, volunteers and placement students. Responsible for developing and leading a lottery funded environmental and horticultural education project.

Presenting music/talk shows and broadcasts on local community radio as well as outside broadcasts and interviews. Have also presented a regular slot about gardening and nature for BCB Radio and have been a semi regular guest on the Sunday morning gardening show on BBC Radio Leeds.
