Completed “Introduction to Professional Cookery” at the Roundhouse, Derby College. The course incorporated gaining skills working in the kitchen of the Engine Shed Restaurant adjacent to the College.

 

Work Experience

2010 – 2011
MB Ceilings Ltd (As and when required)

This involved working as part of a team erecting suspended ceilings and partition walls. I was required to assist in the use of technical equipment and precision working. This involved me demonstrating a high level of numeracy and problem solving skills. This experience within the building trade  provided me with the opportunity to obtain work placed skills.

February 2012 – June 2014
Employed initially as a Commis Chef and now as a Chef de Partie at Donington Manor, Castle Donington.

I experience the day to day running of a busy commercial kitchen where my previous skills of team working are demonstrated alongside my developing professional specific skills I obtained during my time at Derby College. I have taken full responsibility for overseeing the running of the kitchen during times of the Head Chef’s absence.

Also on very busy nights after work I would be asked to help with the bar.

June 2014 – October 2014
Was in receipt of Disability Benefits.  Due to a motorbike accident I was unable to work for several months.

October 2015 – Present
Employed as a customer service advisor at DHL Express

Dealing with the tracking and booking in of parcels, answering quires and complaints and being the first point of contact for anyone coming through to the call centre.

 

Personal Skills

I am a conscientious, hard working individual who has the ability to work both autonomously and part of a team. I am creative and computer literate. I relish every opportunity available for me to develop myself in a variety of skills.
