DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

My role as Project Manager (Contractors Representative ) on the Webuye – Malaba stretch of road which is a joint venture with Maltauro Impresa Giuseppe. This is one of the main arteries linking Kenya to the inland countries of Uganda, Chad, Sudan etc. The works consist of rehabilitation and reconstruction of the carriageway and extension of the hard shoulders, and associated Box Culverts and all ancillary works. The road length is 62 Km of which 58 Km have completed todate with AWC Road Surface. It is an EU Funded project with the Client being the Government of Kenya. Onsite we have our own quarry which supply all necessary crushed stone and an Asphalt Plant which supplies all our asphalt requirements. The value of the Contract is in excess of $68 M.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Project Manager with this Irish owned, and 2nd largest Civil Engineering Company in Nigeria, I have been entrusted to manage both Federal and State Road Projects, as well as Bridge Projects throughout Nigeria. Main priorities are to ensure raw materials are readily available at all times. In an unstable environment, planning and programming is totally dependent on this. I assume total responsibility for all site operations, including Production, and all Interim Certificates. Contracts value between $ 20M and $ 50M.
