Career Summary

Sept 1987 – April 1993.
Pancon Services Ltd.

I served my electrical apprenticeship with Pancon Services Ltd. My main duties were the installation and pre-commissioning of all aspects of HVAC controls systems. Towards the end of my time with Pancon I became more involved with the commissioning side of the systems. My time at Pancon gave me a good understanding and indepth knowledge of the principals of HVAC control systems. The main systems we used were Staefa and Satchwell.

April 1993 – March 1999.
R.E. Dew & Co Ltd.

My duties at R.E. Dew were Installing HVAC control systems. I was running jobs and overseeing sub contractors, liasing with other trades on site. I then moved into commissioning the smaller jobs and servicing of control systems. I was also involved with servicing of UPS systems, Fume Cupboards and installing and interfacing with fire alarm systems.

The main systems we used were Trend, Satchwell and Drayton DC1100.

March 1999 – December 2003.
Acorn Maintenance Engineering.

My duties at Acorn included the PPM servicing of HVAC control panels and associated controls. I was also involved in upgrading obsolete or faulty control systems, this involved mainly Trend and Delta. Working at Acorn gave me further knowledge of all items of plant as from time to time I became involved with the PPM servicing of Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units, VAV Boxes, Pumps, Electrical Systems and Plumbing.

My duties also included the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanic equipment.

I reported directly with the facility managers on site and reported any problems and discussed the best way of overcoming these problems.

December 2003 – July 2004.
Keypad Control Systems.

My duties at Keypad included commissioning of Trend BMS systems and associated controls, demonstrating to the client and end users and handing over to the clients. I was also responsible for overseeing the installation of the systems. Working at keypad improved my knowledge of Trend systems.

July 2004 – December 2008.
Acorn Maintenance Engineering.

My duties at Acorn included the PPM servicing of HVAC controls and BMS systems, I also offer technical back up to the other engineers. I have given controls training to my collegues and some clients. I was also involved with the installation team, designing and building the control panels, overseeing the installation and commissioning of the controls. I also became involved in all types of building maintenance including Plumbing, Electrics and General Maintenance. This involved carrying out repairs, upgrades and alterations to these systems. I am competent on working with Pumps, Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units, Pipework and other equipment.

January 2009 – Present.
AES Control Systems Limited.

My duties at AES include the maintainence and servicing of HVAC Control Panels, BMS systems and all associated controls. I also have to carry out fault finding to identify faults on the systems. I am also involved with upgrading systems to BMS, commissioning and demonstrating to the end users.

The main systems I work with are Trend and Siemens.

I have good organisation skills, I am used to organising and running jobs and liaising with other contractors.

I work well under pressure, for example when equipment has failed and needs to be repaired and back online quickly.

I have good computer skills and have been using most Microsoft office program.

I can work well individually or as part of a team.

I am used to writing reports for work done and keeping records of work that has been completed.
