Short Bio:

Having served in the British Military for over 8 years as an infantry soldier working abroad and overseas in many hostile or extreme climate environments. I am now a fully qualified apprentice served technician with a multitude of background in different variants of vehicles from LCV, HGV and MHE. I have recently been working at Rolls Royce Motor Cars and now at Jaguar Land Rover in Warwickshire as a trim technician where l have now worked in all areas and types of vehicles.

01/2014 –

• Supporting a very busy growth period at JLR as a contractor to help speed up preparing vehicles for motor shows around the world incl Geneva, L.A, Iceland, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Shanghai, Seoul etc.

• Working on a variety of high spec JLR vehicles which include the new Evoque, Range Rover SVR, Discovery and Defenders and all other one off builds. Working to high standards as l did at Rolls-Royce.

• Working to a specific JLR process in retrieving vehicles from production, rectifying profiling throughout, interior changes or replacements, photo shoot prep, stripping cars fully down to go to paint shop then rebuilding fully with new parts once returned then completing the final processes and audits.

• Interior and exterior trim replacements or repairs, profiling, glass removal/replacement, panels stripped ready for paint or rebuild, ordering parts and fitting show lights.

• Working shifts in two teams to get maximum time on multiple vehicles to get them ready .

• Working on interior and exterior trim, profiling, glass setting, Leather removal and replacement plus working to high standards to prevent further damage to parts or materials so a “hands off cars” approach was enforced.

• Supervising and inspecting completion of work on a daily basis and making sure the companies’ procedures and policies are adhered to including high level of HS&E in the workplace.

• Filling out weekly, 3 month, 6 month and annual job cards or service sheets for every vehicle.

• Working on a fleet of 300 vehicles a month, supervising and/or teaching at times a team of 15 mechanics and processing all relevant paper work in relation to job, HS&E or employee welfare.

• Responsible for completing maintenance activities on all equipment such as installing, repairing, trouble-shooting, electrical faults, diagnostics, preventative maintenance and recoveries. All work undertaken including mechanical, electrical, gearbox, engine & chassis removal and fitting. Also undertaking welding and painting of new body panels or vehicles. Worked on hydraulic systems which were on all MHE vehicles daily removing and repairing and fault finding. Dust and sand damage vehicles very quickly in the desert.

• Carrying out risk assessments, method statements, and weekly toolbox talks and keeping the workshop to a clean, tidy and safe working standard. Most work was either PPM’s or PRM to keep the fleet running.

• Fleet consisted of Plant & MHE equipment, HGV’s plus TATA’s, Toyota’s, JCB’s, An Osprey rubber remover, Telehandler’s and a Linde Reachstaker C4531 plus flight line equipment. Equipment value estimated from £1000 and up to £600,000. 12V to 24V systems.

• Supporting the Generator Mechanics if short staffed or urgent requirement to help service or repair their generators which were of various sizes and power output.

• Working in a busy administrative and technical hand’s on role which required signing off completed work.

• Working in a multinational and hostile environment with all types of challenges to take on while working a full 65 hour week in arduous climates. Working 7 days a week, 12 weeks at a time before taking 3 week R&R.

• Carried out preventative maintenance PPM’s whilst servicing all makes and models of vehicles. Replaced numerous clutches, timing belts, head gaskets, tyres and MOT failure repairs. Diagnosing electrical faults and re wiring earth points or plugs or replacing electronic sensors which were damaged by water or rust.

• Carried out a variety of diagnostic repairs using scan tools, multi-meters or specialist equipment to find faults then rectify or inform the customer if required with the cost to repair.

• Ordering parts from different parts suppliers and filling out job cards once work has been completed.

• Worked alongside REME in and out of barracks while driving and maintaining military vehicles of various types such as the Warrior, CVRT’s, Land rovers and 432’s.

• Carrying out monthly maintenance servicing and repairs which ranged from mechanical, hydraulic or electrical faults. No diagnostic equipment available on old military vehicles so manual diagnostics was carried out.

• Deployed to Iraq for the second time to help continue the hearts and minds mission and prevent further attacks from insurgents by carrying out patrols and OP’s.

• Senior team leader responsible for ensuring driver safety and vehicle checks to a high standard within the whole company. Carrying out monthly and annual checks, CFT’s and services.

Guardsman Macedonia/Kosovo/Europe

• Being part of the liberation/peacekeeping force deployed to IRAQ in March 2003. Responsible for mobile and foot patrols, anti-terrorism movement control, observation and surveillance positions. Awarded the Peace keeping Medal with rosette. Also a tour in Kosovo with a similar mission as Iraq in 1999.

• Given the Honour by being given the privilege of carrying the Queen Mothers Coffin in 2002 and awarded a special medal. The RVM. (Royal Victoria Medal) by the Queen in Buckingham Palace.

Qualifications

NVQ 4101 level 1,2 & 3 in Motor Vehicle Electrical and Mechanical Studies achieved from a 3 year apprenticeship.

C&G Level 3 Certificate in mobile air conditioning systems which included the new F gas regulations. Aug 2012.
