This role initially involved the service management of both Production and Capital Projects service lines. The assignment extended to the management of all E&P programmes of work to be delivered globally as well as the transitioning of support from the existing outsourced framework to a new incumbent organisation. Ensuring the acceptance into service, several global initiatives including Integrated Asset Planning System, Production Management Systems, new E&P initiatives, Global Production Dashboard and the Venture wide Management Toolkit. As of January 2013 this role is focussed solely as the Global E&P IT Production Operations Applications Owner and business intimacy.

IT Business Systems Manager
August 2006 to June 2011 – Kazakhstan – KPO Joint Venture (BG Group)

This role involved the collation, negotiation, acceptance and successful deployment of the KPO IT 2006 strategy. This included a major organisational change within this area, leading to the creation of 5 distinct work streams consisting of Business Intelligence, Commercial Applications, Technical Applications, Petro-Technical Applications, Systems Architects, as well as the tangible development of the local workforce allowing effective succession planning and nationalisation. This resolved service delivery challenges regarding the support and availability of a portfolio of 195+ applications within an Oil and Gas Operation. Leading a talent base of 45+ multinational team members and providing services to a 4000+-customer base, over 25 local and international locations.

Duties of this role have included the collation strategic initiatives including a corporate wide Business Systems Roadmap, sustainable succession planning, 5 year nationalisation plan, career development planning, resource management, promoting ITIL based best practices, staff appraisals, coaching, mentoring, annual budget management ($10MM+) including the provision of justification for expenditure to the local authority.

Other duties have involved the initiation of the venture wide SAP ERP initiative to replace the current ERP landscape (SUN, Maximo etc) and presentation of new solutions at both board and partner level entities in order to gain approval of both funds and rationale from the appropriate stakeholders. Management of the TCO ERP I-Series/JDE (Oracle World) environment to both 20 local technical staff and a 3500 + user base primarily finance, payroll, treasury, estate management, HR and distribution and logistics. Duties included the project management (via Chevron’s customised formal project methodology) and mentoring of national staff ensuring both system availability and integrity were maintained according to agreed service levels, local (Russian + Kazakh) reporting requirements and audit compliance. This involved the collation, acceptance & deployment of the TCO 2001 ERP I-Series strategy, inclusive of the evaluation, board level presentation, & negotiation of a major overhaul & upgrade of the TCO ERP I-Series JDE environment (Hardware, Operating System & 3rd party applications inclusive of Performance Analysis, Capacity Planning, Change Control, Security & UAT) within agreed budgets & timeframes.

This cumulated in the resolution of performance, and service delivery issues, allowing SLAs’, KPIs’ and group audit requirements to be met, thus re-establishing credibility & confidence of the TCO IT function. Other duties included the negotiation, management of software & hardware resources, at both a local & international level (Russia, UK and US).

The planning & collation of the TCO ERP 2002 I-Series Strategy involved a total systems review, comprising of several strategies, inclusive of contingency/continuity recovery, back-ups (BRMS), risk assessment, I-Series/JDE security, BCP/DRP audit compliance, management of staff recruitment/evaluation/training, definition & qualification of production & test environments, systems management/maintenance/security, budgetary management, in alignment with corporate business requirements. The initial role consisted of understanding and exploitation of the midrange technology and software infrastructure within the Virgin group to both established and green-field environments. As the V2 Music Group matured, the role focussed solely on V2’s requirements, to Project Manage the Greenfield global implementation of the JD Edwards ERP solution, working closely with the finance team and understanding their requirements, this also included the creation of implementation schedules and test environments, the migration and integration of US legacy systems, as well as the resolution of localisation reporting requirements to 13 international offices. Further projects, involved the standardisation of business processes, thus enabling improvement and efficiency whilst limiting cost. Other duties included the Project Management and of Maestro/400 (Record Royalty Reporting System), ARCPS (Music Publishing Royalty Reporting System), Datamirror (High Availability), Optio (Forms Management) software implementations, Client Access, NT connectivity, Lotus Notes, & a VPN facility.
