This is a key role, to join a leading designer and manufacturer of GSM products and provide the generation and delivery of Mobile Telecommunications (GSM) training at the UK base and/or on-site at customer locations worldwide.

You will be joining an established team responsible for technical customer training, training development and customer support for a range of GSM products, utilising IP-based backhaul, for in-building pico-cell coverage.

The Role

  • Scheduling training times and dates with the end customer
  • Managing customer issues related to both technical and project matters.
  • Assisting with the installation and commissioning of Base Station Controllers
  • Assisting with the installation and commissioning
  • Performing acceptance testing on-site with the customer
  • Producing post-installation site reports
  • Provide 2nd line on & off-site product support
  • Provide emergency on-call cover 24×7
  • Advising customers on IP and RF network configuration options
  • Close working with customers and other support groups

 

Requirements

  • Experience in the preparation of training presentations and course notes for GSM technologies
  • High level of presentation and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring and supporting
  • Detailed understanding of principles and protocols
  • Detailed understanding of networking principles
  • System administration level knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure from demanding customers
  • A methodical approach to carrying out procedures and recording the results
  • Willingness to work outside normal hours to obtain customer acceptance and customer satisfaction
  • Relevant academic qualifications
