Skills Provision has been tasked with the recruitment of a Technical Plant Manager for a Malawi based client.  The employing organisation are a cement products company and the role involves direct reporting to the Managing Director and Chairman.

The day-to-day activities require overseeing the optimum performance of all plant and delegating maintenance and production to appropriate supervisors whilst working alongside a workforce with a range of skills and cultural backgrounds.

Candidates must hold a relevant degree and experience details are given below.

Please note that this position has a start date of January 2019.

Job Description

The Technical Plant Manager’s day-to-day activities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage daily operations of all plant
  • Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety requirements and ISO standards
  • Continually test and monitor plant processes
  • Maintain technical records
  • Prepare, analyse and issue production and performance reports
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance system
  • Instil discipline and hard work ethic in the workforce


Candidate Requirements

The ideal Technical Plant Manager must possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • A minimum of 17 years’ plant operations experience
  • A wealth of technical knowledge of plant operation including the ability to develop innovative troubleshooting solutions
  • Familiar with operating plant regulatory requirements and Best Practice procedures
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to lead a range of skilled workers and from diverse backgrounds
