Vacancies for Franchised Diesel Mechanic, Australia

Due to an ongoing need for Diesel Mechanics in various locations across Australia, Skills Provision now has opportunities for some 30 suitably qualified personnel.

Attractive salary packages are being offered, subject to skills and experience.

Candidates must have completed a diesel mechanic apprenticeship and, due to Immigration rulings, have a minimum of 5 years RECENT post apprenticeship experience.

Experience is required in at least one of the following brands Daimler Trucks (including Freightliner, Mercedes Benz, Fuso), Volvo (including Mack and UD), PACCAR (including MAN and Western Star), Scania, Iveco and Hino.


Salary Package

  • Salary of circa A$60000
  • Tool allowance of A$570
  • Shift allowance
  • Performance related bonus
  • Superannuation of approximately A$5700 per annum
  • 4 weeks annual leave
  • 10 days sick leave
  • Around 9-10 days for public holidays


Candidate Requirements

  • Must have completed a diesel mechanic apprenticeship
  • Have a minimum of 5 years RECENT post apprenticeship experience
  • Experience must be in one of the brands listed above
  • Be prepared to undergo further training
  • Be flexible, confident, able to communicate well and display initiative
  • At all times adhere to workplace safety


Depending on current location and Nationality several documents will be needed for Visa and Skills Assessments

Some of the evidence that will be required to support any visa application will include, but not limited to:

  • A copy of relevant qualification certificates (professional and educational)
  • A copy of any required registration/licensing
  • The curriculum vitae or resumé (including all employment history: the last 5 years is particularly critical)
  • Previous employment references (including evidence of two years’ work experience in the nominated occupation or a related field)

The other key criteria is passing a comprehensive medical, police check of all countries in which the candidate has worked and evidence of English language skills:

  •  Where the candidate did not complete high school in English, candidates will be required to provide evidence of English language skills (ie IELTS test at least 5); holders of Canadian, Irish, NZ, UK or US passports are exempted
  • If the candidate is exempted from providing evidence of English language skills, it is essential that they have good conversational English skills
