Skills Provision is proud to be appointed as the choice recruiter for a leading global supply chain organisation.  In order to meet the demands of projects currently in the pipeline, they are looking for 10 Electrical Engineers/Technicians for their marine business.  These positions are based at its state-of-the-art port in Essex.  All are permanent positions, open to suitably qualified persons with a good standard of English.  Proof of EU citizenship will be required.



Remuneration Package

  • A salary of up to £42,000 p.a.
  • Bonus (up to 10% of salary).
  • Overtime opportunities (payable at basic rate).
  • 33 days annual leave (inclusive of Bank Holidays).
  • Death In Service life cover is in place.
  • The company operates a stakeholder pension scheme.


Job Description

Some of the roles and responsibilities can be seen below:

  • Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance in accordance with London Gateway and company procedures and in a manner to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Provide and collate data as necessary whilst carrying out the above.
  • Adhere to safe industry HSE standards AT ALL TIMES.
  • Manage and supervise contractors during commissioning and at other times.
  • Provide ongoing support to update/improve company methods and risk assessments.
  • Liaise with stores and asset managers in maintaining inventory/stock levels.
  • Complete work orders for submission to planners at the end of each shift.


Candidate Requirements

  • As a minimum must be Level 3 qualified as per the National Qualification Framework.
  • Have at least 5 years’ engineering/maintenance experience.
  • Ably troubleshoot and fault diagnostic of electrical and control circuits.
  • Basic understanding of PLC programming is preferable.
  • Experience in troubleshooting motors and inverter drives/frequency controllers.
  • Possess excellent knowledge/skills of equipment maintenance and engineering.
  • Can demonstrate experience/knowledge of pertinent HSE regulations.
  • Possess excellent communication and personal skills.
  • Be dynamic and innovative.
  • Excellent team player.
