Skills Provision has been asked by Campbell Page to assist with the selection of the first NVQ assessor to work for them within Somerset. It is likely that the candidate will live in either BANES or the Mendips to ease occasional travel requirements to regional offices based in Trowbridge or Swindon.

The range of NVQ’s to be put in place will depend on individual and local business needs with the overall aim of increasing employment within local communities. The job is best described as “Trainer/mentor NVQ assessor helping people improve their skills in the workplace”

What is in it for you?

The successful candidate will be responsible to the Contract Manager who will offer training and support but you will need an independent character with the ability to control your own work load.

Hours of Work: 37.5 per week – with a salary in the range of £18,000 and £20,000 per year, possibly more for someone with existing directly related skills and the ability to carry out marketing duties with local businesses but it is unlikely the package will exceed £25,000 per year.

The Job

To deliver NVQ qualifications both one to one and in small groups

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Delivery of NVQ qualifications

• Experience of hard copy and e-portfolio delivery

• Maintain own case load of learners

• To effectively manage a case load of learners to achieve their targeted qualifications within prescribed time scales

• To carry out reviews and update ILP

• To undertake assessments of competence in accordance with awarding body requirements

• To provide training and additional support to learners and complete timely reviews of progress against set targets

• Ensure each learner’s portfolio is updated regularly with assessment decisions, training and support to demonstrate learner’s progress

• Responsible for maintaining all records and documentation in line with Campbell Page and SFA and awarding body requirements

• Take part in local and company marketing initiatives to recruit new learners and employers

• To be part of the staff team and maintain a flexible, involved and supportive role towards the work of the programme

• To work with line manager to manage own performance to support the companies performance indicators

• Ensure records of CPD are kept up to date, including standardisation activities and sector updates to maintain competence to enable effective delivery

• Undertake staff development as agreed with the line manager

• To implement and comply with the companies Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding and Health & Safety policies and procedures and ensure the safety and welfare of learners on the programme are monitored and recorded

• To undertake other duties within the scope and nature of the position

• To deliver weekly report to line manager regarding activities

Nationality and Language

You must be a citizen of the European Union with the existing right to work in the United Kingdom. Individuals holding valid full time work visas to work in the United Kingdom may apply.
