Skills Provision is searching for a Senior Business Development Manager for a steel company based in Saudi Arabia.

The employing company specialise in the design, fabrication and installation of a wide variety of steel products such as pressure vessels, process spheres, storage tanks, structural steel, piping assemblies and heavy weldments for both new construction and maintenance retrofit projects throughout Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the Middle East.

The Role

  • Direct and coordinate company sales, marketing, estimating and bid proposals functions.
  • Direct and oversee the company marketing function, identify and develop potential new customers, and personally manage existing key customers.
  • Develop and manage the sales and marketing budgets and oversee the development and management of internal operating budgets.
  • Manage the preparation of estimates and give due guidance and support to estimators.
  • Manage the preparation of new project bid packages/proposals.
  • Supervise the planning and development of company marketing and communications materials including the company website.
  • Represent the company at various industry and business events.
  • Supervise the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs.
  • Work with department managers and corporate staff to develop business plans for the company.
  • Establish and implement departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, motivate and evaluate department staff.



  • Experience in estimating, bid proposals, strategic planning and project execution within the petrochemical industry (tanks and vessels). Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Experience in planning sales and marketing strategies.
  • Requires highly professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality proposals within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several bidding projects. Ability to direct and facilitate group meetings.
