Environmental, Health & Safety Expert Needed in Ghana

An excellent opportunity for an Environmental, Health and Safety Professional to work with an international leading Life Sciences Company in Ghana, Africa.

The Role

• Conduct EHS inductions, risk assessments as and when required across all sites
• Provide EHS guidance to enable managers to effectively manage the EHS performance of their areas
• Identify Environmental, Health and Safety training needs and provide or arrange training courses as required.
• Development of strategies, policies and procedures as directed so that EHS objectives are met.
• Maintain the profile of EHS issues at senior management level
• Manage interactions with enforcing authorities, maintaining constructive working relationships.
• Identify, investigate and report on compliance contravention, serious incidents, accidents and ill health and recommend remedial actions
• Take a lead role in the development and maintenance of the emergency response systems and provide training in their use
• Promote Safety, Health and Environmental issues amongst management and staff at all levels

Requirements

• Experience within a chemical warehouse
• Degree or equivalent in Scientific subject
• Strong experience within an HSE role (preferably in a chemical warehouse environment)
• MS Office literacy
• Strong technical knowledge and a good understanding of company systems and processes.
• Pragmatic approach
• Ability to understand and interpret complex legislation
• Communication and influencing skills
