Skills Provisions client is one of the market leaders in the fleet operation of buses across the UK. These positions are located at various depots around the outskirts of London. These positions involve shift work and are open to all English speaking European Union citizens with the right skill sets.Bus Depot

What’s in it for you?

The rates of pay vary from depot to depot but fall within a range of £30,000 to £36,000 p.a.

Main Statement of Job Purpose:

  • To carry out maintenance and servicing in line with the Company’s Engineering & Quality Standards Manual.
  • To provide safe, clean and reliable vehicles, in order to meet Peak Vehicle Requirements in the most efficient and reliable manner.
  • To maintain and repair vehicles to the highest standards, within strict turn around times; the ability to promptly diagnose and repair faults to ensure the delivery of service is maintained for our customers.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

Maintenance of Fleet 

  • Ensure scheduled maintenance checks are carried out in a timely fashion, including MOT’s and servicing.


  • Ensure repairs are carried out promptly and to high standard to prevent recurrence of fault.

Diagnostics and Fault-Finding

  • Clearing defects found on inspection. Ability to pinpoint quickly and accurately faults and take action to rectify.

Person Specification



• Appropriate engineering qualifications.


• Engineering apprenticeship.

Knowledge & Experience:


• Previous experience of adherence to VOSA / Department of Transport standards.

• Previous experience of maintenance / repair of HGV’s / PCV’s.

• Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety issues.

Skills & Abilities:


• Communication skills

• Competent to work unsupervised.

• Ability to prioritise work and deliver to set deadlines.

• Ability to work under pressure.

Personal Qualities:


• Self-motivated,

• High attention to detail.

Specific Requirements for the job


• Eligible to work and reside in the UK with an adequate command of the English language


• PCV licence holder preferred.
