I started out as an intern under the local government in the Department of Public Health were I saw my career taking off through numerous activities that were assigned to me. Working in teams was evidently important in this role as I saw myself learning more and having responsibilities shared and goals attained more effectively. Among other duties, I participated in regular routine inspections of private and public properties to ensure legislative guidelines were followed in line with public health regulations. Unfortunately, my internship opportunity came to an end three months after as they had limited spaces and had to accommodate another group as per Ministry's guideline.
In less than a year, I moved on to Mobile Medical services, a private clinic within the capital of Lusaka offering outpatient and nursing home services. I diligently took up the role of Public Health Intern. Being surrounded by different medical professionals, My role was to ensure the institution was kept to public health standards and all employees followed the best practices which allowed promotion of healthy behaviors. Evidently, I enjoyed this role because it created a platform for me to learn from other health professionals thereby adding to my skill set not only professionally but socially too.
Just when I was beginning to settle in, I received an offer letter from the Ministry of Health (government body) to work as a Public Health Officer. I eventually packed my bags and moved to another town away from the city to grow my resume. There I was immediately appointed Head of Department. My role thrived in supervision of other health professions, planning, coordination of preventive programs, monitoring and budgeting of health programs for implementation. In this role, I came across many opportunities working with non-governmental organizations such as USAID, CDC, etc.
Through these past job experiences my passion for the health sector has grown immensely which in turn has brought about a drive to demonstrate my transferable skills in any role with minimum supervision.

Shopping: I love to shop even if it means having to do some 'window shopping' at times. It is actually my weekend special. It allows me some me-time when I feel overwhelmed with mommy and wifely duties.
Reading and Research: My love for reading came about in high school when I had to take up English Literature as one of my key courses. It was definitely quite a struggle in the beginning to even complete one book. Surprisingly, I grew so much in love with reading that I performed exceptionally well. I have a simple collection of cookery books, travel, fashion and read many folktale from local authors.
