Research Area
Fracture mechanics: developing a numerical tool to predict the fracture mechanics of passively and actively coupled structural systems (composite structure). Predicting the mechanical behavior of smart structures equipped with piezoelectric layers in case of crack damage, crack growth direction, stability and life of products. It could be used in the design activity for a consistent prediction of the smart system reliability. For this investigation the commercial software ABAQUS and ISIGHT tools were selected to implements the Finite Element Method analysis.

Advanced Manufacturing Process: Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is one of the important nontraditional machining processes. Carbon nanotubes have mechanical, thermal and electrical properties especially high electrical conductivity. The multi-walled carbon nanotubes due to its mechanical, thermal and electrical properties especially high electrical conductivity are added to the EDM process to improve the machining characteristics of this process such as surface roughness, recast layer, material removal rate and electrode wear rate.

• Research in the area of Composite structure, fiber reinforcement composite, polymers, smart materials, piezoelectric materials, lightweight material.
• Research and studies on different modern Manufacturing process such as: Electrical discharge machining, Water jet cutting, Plasma, Laser beam machining, Chemical machining
• Quality Control: Research and studies on different subjects such as: TQM and EFQM.
• Electric Arc Furnace: working on the area of electric arc furnaces in Danieli steel making factories. (Study on fatigue, vibration, forces, flicker of voltage).
