British Airways, London - Market Analyst - October 2011 – Present

In this highly analytical position, my ultimate objective is to act as the key interface between sales and revenue management, making robust decisions to maximise the revenue return of British Airways’ cargo division.


I manage and develop a number of reports that enables me to monitor performance and identify trends with customers, competitors and within the general market environment. My strong investigative experience and management of large data sets allows me to manipulate facts to identify new opportunities and risks to improve the sales margin.


Main Duties:



  • Providing insightful analysis and commentary to support the regional commercial team to achieve the financial plan by highlighting risks and opportunities.  I work cross functionally and head projects to mitigate the risks and exploit the opportunities identified.
  • Set the revenue forecasts and financial plan for the region by area of sale.
  • Work closely with the sales/marketing teams to support the commercial planning process and set a reporting structure that tracks all sales initiatives.
  • Own and manage day to day pricing decisions and ensure adherence to the pricing policy in the region.
  • Challenge through analysis low contribution flows of business and suggest changes to improve performance.
  • Support the tender processes for key global agents.
  • Evaluate and authorise specific agent deals taking into account their overall contribution and any dilution effect to current business.
  • Attend and present at regional meetings, addressing performance trends and delivering key messages.
  • Work closely with finance at month and year end to produce business reviews and revenue/cost reports.
British Airways, London - Price Distribution Executive - November 2010 – October 2011

In this role I gained a good understanding of the commercial environment and developed a robust knowledge of the pricing process and systems. My role was to accurately prepare and file pricing data into the required distribution systems (FMD & ATPco) and by demonstrating a technical expertise to pricing I was able to deliver speed to market in a fast moving commercial environment, which was key to BA achieving its revenue goals.

I monitored, summarised and interpreted competitor pricing activity on a regular basis and recommended actions as appropriate. I acted as a technical expert to give guidance to Sales, Marketing, e-commerce and Passenger Revenue Accounting on fares distribution and the Fares Management Distribution Systems.


British Airways, London - Customer Service Agent - January 2007 – November 2010

My duty was to carry out a number of ground functions to the highest standard to enable our customers to have a safe, seamless journey through the passenger terminals pre and post flight.

It was sometimes necessary in this role to deal with very difficult situations such as airport runway closures, passenger offloads and downgrades which occasionally caused mass disruption. This allowed me to develop an excellent level of customer service, inter personal skills and helped me develop the ability to make calculated decisions in difficult situations.
